Ben was born in Boston, but has lived in Texas, mostly San Antonio, since he was nine.  He graduated from Rice University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in English.  Ben attended the University of Houston Law Center, where he was an articles editor on the founding board of the Houston Business and Tax Law Journal and senior articles editor in its second year of existence.  He received his J.D. in 2001.

Ben practiced civil litigation in Houston from 2001-2004, defending multi-party mass tort construction defect cases in the homebuilding industry.  In 2004, he returned to San Antonio and joined the firm now known as Hoblit Darling Ralls Hernandez & Hudlow LLP.  His practice primarily included healthcare liability defense, civil rights defense, and governmental agency defense, as well as appellate work in those areas.  In 2022, Ben joined Lindow Stephens Schultz LLP, where he practices primarily insurance defense.

Ben enjoys spending time with his two children, reading, and listening to music.  In his spare time he enjoys home improvement projects, as well as running and hiking.
