Dan grew up in Texas and received a Bachelors degree from Rice University in 1991. He attended the University of Houston Law Center, where he was an articles editor on the Houston Journal of International Law. He received his J.D. in 1994. He spent a year clerking for the Chief Justice of the First Court of Appeals, then practiced civil litigation in Houston from 1995 – 1998. He was Assistant Attorney General for the Republic of Palau from 1998–2001. In 2001 he and his wife returned to Texas to start a family, and he has since litigated a wide range of both civil and criminal matters in Texas and Federal courts, with an emphasis on personal injury litigation, including products liability, premises liability, defamation, and motor vehicle accidents. 
 
At LSS his practice focuses on first and third party insurance defense litigation.

When not in the courtroom, Dan enjoys spending time with his family, travel, cooking, camping, hunting and fishing, brewing beer, and discovering new Thai restaurants.
