William P. Durland has been an attorney practicing in San Antonio and the surrounding area since 1987. Mr. Durland did general civil work and plaintiffs work from 1987 until 1997. Mr. Durland was an assistant city attorney from 1997 until 2006. Mr. Durland had the title of Litigation Manager for the Bexar Appraisal District, from 2007-2013, where he supervised litigation regarding ad valorem property taxation of both residential and commercial properties on a property tax roll exceeding $100 billion. He was staff counsel for GEICO from 2014 until the fall of 2022.

 

He has a number of successful published appeals involving personal injury, administrative law and ad valorem taxation.

 

Mr. Durland has tried approximately 25 jury trials, first chair, and assisted in the trial of at least a dozen  more. He has tried cases involving automobile accidents, vehicle accidents, premises liability and the appraised value of commercial and residential property.
