Melissa received a Bachelor’s degree in political science from St. Mary’s University, her law degree from St. Mary’s University School of Law, and an MBA from UTSA. She has served her native San Antonio by working as an assistant to two former Mayors: Ed Garza and the late Lila Cockrell. She is graduate of the inaugural Latina Leadership Institute and Leadership San Antonio.

Before joining our firm Melissa worked as the managing attorney for Heard and Smith, then owned her own law firm. Melissa is licensed to practice law in the great state of Texas and the US District Court Western District of Texas. In addition to practicing law, she serves as the San Antonio Councilwoman for District 6.
