Smaranda Draghia-Hobbs graduated from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, in 2011. She received her Master’s degree from University of Houston. She then attended Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston, where she was a member of the Innocence Project team, Mock Trial team, Moot Court team, and Law Review, and obtained her J.D. in 2017. Smaranda also held leadership roles in the Student Bar Association and Board of Advocates, and received the Order of the Barristers Award due to her extensive success in both mock trial and moot court.
After graduation, Smaranda practiced in a number of different areas of law, including immigration, criminal defense, plaintiff’s side personal injury, and subrogation, prior to joining LSS in 2022. She primarily practices in first-party insurance defense and third-party insurance defense.
