Amanda N. James was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. She graduated from Texas A&M University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in English in 2011. She attended Florida Coastal School of Law, where she was a member of the Moot Court Honor Board, Mock Trial team, and obtained her J.D. in 2014. Amanda also served as the Internal Vice President for the Student Bar Association, a student ambassador, and received the honor of the Law Student Recognition Award. During her time as a moot court member, she received the award for Best Oral Advocate and Regional Finalist at the Thomas Tang Regional Moot Court Competition, Semifinalist at Charleston School of Law Moot Court Competition, and Quarterfinalist at the New York City Bar National Moot Court Competition.

After graduation, Amanda practiced civil litigation in Houston at Sprott, Newsom, Quattlebaum, & Messenger prior to joining the firm in February of 2016. She primarily practices in first-party insurance defense, third-party insurance defense, personal injury, and construction defect. She had tried many cases to verdict in both personal injury and construction defect/property damage in state and federal courtrooms across Texas.

Amanda and her partner Andrew reside in Austin, Texas where they are proud parents to their perfect little Shih Tzu, Peter Cornelius “Pico” Miller. In her free time, Amanda enjoys amateur gardening, spinning with Robin and Emma, and riding bikes with her Wheels of Justice teammates.
